The Truth About Meal Prepping

“IT’S SOOO EASY,” they said. “IT’LL BE FUN,” they said.

I am going to be brutally honest in this post. I’m going to disclose the truth about meal prepping.

Meal prepping is a lot of work.

It’s not glamorous like the Instagram photos make it seem.

It can be extremely messy, tiring, stressful, and annoying.

In fact, I decided to write this post right after I spent 2 hours in the kitchen cooking, washing, and chopping 3 days worth of food.

I also spent a ton of time cleaning the mess I made in the kitchen.

Little pieces of food had fallen all over the floor, the sink was covered in greens, and there were pots and pans all over!

Glamorous, right?

Although tedious….it’s 100% WORTH IT!

Let me be specific.

Although tired from the 13 hour day I had (yes, I wake up at 4:30 am to hit the gym) I was extremely proud of myself for putting in the work upfront so that I could enjoy quick and healthy meals throughout the week.

Every meal I eat, I end up being thankful for the time I saved by meal prepping on Sunday or Monday night.

The point of this post is to emphasize that:

Nothing worthwhile ever comes easy. If everything were easy, everyone would be doing it, and if everyone were doing it, it wouldn’t separate good from great.

Now, with all of this being said. Yes, I understand you are busy and tired from the day and meal prepping, or other health initiatives might sound like a drag.

What I don’t understand is why people continue to put themselves and their health on the backburner.

So if you have been contemplating making your health a priority, decide if it’s that important to you.

If so, go all in and be don’t settle for good.

Be great!
